JFF: Embossing and Sponged Card

Hi guys! Today is my day to design for the Just For Fun challenge blog and I had so much fun making this colorful card.

For this card I started by sponging on different ink colors to create a really fun background. I then decided to grab the "Cupids Arrow" stamp and cut it apart so I ended up getting two stamps out of one. I did this because I wanted to clear emboss those beautiful arrows on the background and use the sentiment in a white as the foreground.

This card was super simple to put together and came out awesome. Here take a look at the process video I created.

CK: Welcome Back & Unicorn Birthdays

Hi and Welcome to the Scrap Shack!! Today I have some exiting news.... I have decided to re-join Creatve Knockouts Design Team!! Woot Woot! This is one of my favorite design teams to be a part of and for today's post I have a wonderful Birthday card to show you.

Every Thursday at Creative Knockouts there is a brand new challenge as well as a prize package! The theme varies every week and all members of the DT come on and showcase their projects using a digital stamp. Well this week the challenge is "Birthday Wishes" and our sponsor is none other than  Digital Delights which is exactly where my image came from.

Digital Stamp: Starz The Unicorn
There's no better CTMH stamp to use with this digital image than the Birthday Princess one. This is a great magical birthday stamp that features great sentiments, princesses, magic sparkles, and of course your prince frogs. The inside sentiment for my card was pulled from this same stamp set. Here take a look.

For a little extra added inspiration I turned to another one of my favorite challenge blogs FUSION and used their sketch.
As far as the rest of the elements on my card I decided to use the "Adventure" paper line from CTMH which was just recently retired. However you can find a similar paper called "Enchantment" here. I pulled the "Happiness Is..." off from a Pocket Scrapbooking card and the gems are from my stash.

The theme this week at Creative Knockouts is "Birthday Wishes." If you are interested in checking out the other DT members or playing along with us you can find the Creative Knockouts blog here

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you enjoyed my project.

Project Life: Birthday Spread

Thanks for stopping by today to check out my newest project. Today's project is a project life layout of Doo's 6th birthday...which was back in February...whoops. It just goes to show you that even the professionals can get behind on their scrap-booking.

I love to put together these pages because they are super simple, fast, and work wonders when you are trying to catch up on albums (which is me all the time!!)

So for this particular one I grabbed some PL cards from my stash and started to cut and glue. I find that this type of scrap-booking works the best when you start with a card and then add to it, remember we are trying to save time.

One tip that I do have to pass along to you would be to use repetition and symmetry. For example, I used the outer corners for my pictures which helped to keep the flow of the whole page simple and what you would expect. As far as repetition is involved, I simply used the same shapes and theme throughout, so even though the embellishments did not come from the same pack they still matched the overall layout. I also used the triangle to decide where I wanted to place things (take a look at the buttons.)

If you are new to scrap-booking or even just new to Project Life then make sure to head on over to CTMH and pick up some cards (and page protectors.) We have all of the supplies you need to get started or to stock up. I promise once you get involved with this super simple method it will be hard to go back to your old ways.

Thanks for stopping by today and Happy Crafting!

Woah July!!

Hello and almost good-bye July!! LOL! Wow where is this summer going?? I have been so busy keeping my two boys busy (I know summer can be SO boring...right??!!) and traveling around to weddings and such that I haven't had much of a chance to be on the blog. Good news for you though is that if you follow me on Facebook then you have fortunately had the chance to see a little more of me. It's simply easier to get on social media than it is to sorry...but stay tuned because once things get back to normal around here (you know when school starts back up) we will be back to our regular scheduled programming. Anyway, I do hope that you are having a good summer and keeping just as busy.

Today's card is totally summer! If you guys follow me then you know that I take part in swaps. We swap cards, project life layouts, ATC's...pretty much everything. I mention that because today's swap came from one of those groups. This particular swap was a "kit swap" which is awesome because someone volunteers to send kits out to 4-5 different people and then we all make a tag or card using the same materials. Afterward, we meet back up online and see what everyone else created. I know tons of fun right!!

So for this swap I had to use all the items in the kit and then I could add 3 additional items from my stash. Even though I could add three I only ended up adding two, that yellow paper (retired from CTMH) and the "congrats" sentiment.

I can't wait to see what everyone else created.  If you are interested in joining us then feel free to head on over to Swapper's Corner or perhaps even PCS&S both on facebook. You don't even have to limit it to those two groups you can do a simple search and tons of groups will pop up. It's so much fun to swap and you meet some amazing people!

Thanks for stopping in today! I hope you enjoyed my project.

Happy Crafting!
