Green Duck - Easter Cards

Today I am presenting you with my first batch of Easter cards for the year!! I get so excited about Easter. I love all of the pastel colors, the warmer weather, and of course the ham dinner!!

Today I decided to use my Green Duck die cuts from this months kit and make some simple Easter cards that I can pass out to friends and family. Green Duck makes it so easy to create cards, I swear it. If you have not checked the out yet make sure to head on over there.

Ok so now onto the cards :)

See I told you two very easy cards in no time flat using those Green Duck die cuts. For these cards I used the "Hello Lovely" paper line along with the die cuts and some gems that I had in my stash. I used some very basic layouts for the paper making these cards super simple.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you were inspired to head out and create something beautiful!

Tech Tuesday: Curving Cursive Text

Thank for joining us for #Techtuesday where I am going to try my hardest to share something "techie."  Today I decided to make a video about how to curve text in Design Space. I know, I know there are ton's of videos out there showing this...but my video shows cursive text. I know I can hear all the "oohs and ahhs" :)

Cursive text works a little different that non-script font because after you curve it you then have to weld it together, to make it cursive. Here take a's really easy.

See I told you it was super easy :)

Do you have a tech question that I can help you out with? Make sure to leave a comment and I'll feature you on an upcoming Tech Tuesday!

Happy Crafting!

Give-A-Way & Hello Lovely Card Set

Thanks for stopping by today! I decided to take a sheet of the Hello Lovely paper and to practice my one sheet wonder skills! These one sheet wonders are a great way to either use up some 12"x12" papers or to make a bunch of cards with very little effort  supplies.

To make these cards I borrowed a template and design (of course with my own spin) from Craftsy. Here is what the designs and the cut outs look like.

I love this template because you waste very little paper and you get to make a dozen cards!! Here is how she designed them.

I have decided to break up these cards into batches, mainly because I am giving away a set this week, but no worries because I will link them all together as I showcase them.

Here is my first batch with an oldie but still a goody thrown in.

All of the paper (except the bases) came from the "Hello Lovely" paper pack. In addition to the above template I matted most of my patterned paper. You could either mat your's or not (saving even more paper.) If you choose to mat it then just cut the matching solid paper slightly larger than the patterned papers.

I love these packs because they make it really easy for you to mix and match both solids and pattern guess work is involved. The stamp set I used here was "Finding the Words" which is a D-size stamp set located here. This is one of my go-to stamp sets because it has the perfect sentiment for any occasion.

Set of 37
I also went ahead and used the "Springtime Complements" for the "Good Vibes" sentiment and for all of the add-ons (the flowers and hearts!) These complements are another go to, especially for this time of the year, and feature some really awesome variety.
Coordinating stickers and white chipboard die-cuts,
including some with gold foil.
Oh yes, I almost forgot to mention, the freebie!! If you are interested in picking up these cards for free make sure to head on over to my fan-page and give it a "like." Most Friday's I have something really fun going on (like give-a-ways) so be sure to follow along and play in the games. For this week the only thing you have to do is comment on my posts to let me know you are there. Each comment (all week long) gets one entry into the drawing.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting.

Just For Fun: Sunflower Bouquet

Thanks for stopping by. Today is my day to design a card for the Just For Fun blog and I love the way it turned out!! This card is perfect for the Spring time and was made using the wonderful Gourdgeous Sunflower Bouquet stamp found over at JFF.

This was a really fun stamp to color in with my watercolor pencils. The details in the stamp made shading such a breeze. After I colored in the stamp I fussy cut it out and popped it onto the card using a 3-D tape. I love the way this turned out.

What a better way to pull out that stamp than to add it to the "Dreamin' Big" paper line. I'm always talking about how you can use our paper lines for either a masculine feel or for a feminine feel and this card proves that to be true! Check out these papers.
I actually picked up the whole kit because I think that gives me a lot of matching product at a very reasonable price. Everything on this card comes from the kit, except the JFF stamp.

As far as the layout of the card, I decided to join in on a challenge and use the Freshly Made Sketches challenge from this week.

If you feel like playing along make sure to head on over there right away because they close this sketch down today and start a new one for the week.

Thanks for stopping by today. Don't forget that for this month only we are featuring 25% off from all of our thin's really a steal.

50% off Sale

If you follow along over at Scrap Shack Design's facebook page then you know I am all for our planners!! These things are awesome! They come in a binder making it easy to add your memorabilia from the entire year....think pictures, tickets, really anything at all!! And they feature coloring sections making you not only stay organized but also relaxed and stress free (or at least joyful!) If you are all about them, like I am, then you will love the best part. These planners are 50% off!! Yep 50% off while supplies last so hurry up and head on over there to check them out. Here is the direct link

Personally my favorite part is that we offer options. You can get either the sea glass album pictured here.

Or even the black and white stripped album shown below. Making choosing the cover the hardest part.

Are these not the best planners you have ever seen. For less than $16 you will receive the binder, the planner pages, a pencil bag, and some paper clips so you can keep track of everything. You can't even purchase an adult coloring book at that price :)

Still not convinced that this will help you with your everyday adventures. Well then for only $6 you can receive just the pages and accessories. That's more than 50% off!

Now as I mentioned these pages also feature adult coloring designs which is proven to lower your stress level!! I mean really it's a win, win..but just to be sure here is a video showing off some more of the planner.

Also don't forget that if you order from me this month you will receive instructions on how to make my exploding mini album seen here. Already have a planner? Well then make sure to check out our clearance and last chance sections of our website where you can always find discounted products.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you enjoy your Wednesday!

Exploding Mini Album

As many of your know I re-launched my Close to My Heart business last month and I am so excited to be back in the swing of things! Today I have a brand new mini album to showcase to you along with a tutorial (exclusive to my customers!)

So first things first. Take a look at this mini album. It has three pop-out or exploding ladders where you can put all of your Instagram photos! Of course as with any design the size of this album can be adjusted to fit your needs so if you don't instagram then feel free to print your 4x6 photos and adjust the size slightly.
For the cover I used the Hello Lovely Paper line along with this months Green Duck Sales die cut box. These two paired together made this project super simple to throw together and perfect for this coming Easter season.

Each section opens up to reveal 2 - 4x6" spots along with 4 smaller sections that measure approx. 3"x4". I embellished the inside of mine but you could have easily left it blank and just added photos.

I know pictures don't really show the exploding part, which is the best part, so here's an awesome video showing you this mini in motion.

Now onto the awesome part! How do you make your own exploding mini?? Well I have a video tutorial along with the Design Space cut files!! Yea I know that rocks! If you agree then you can have it all for free simply by placing an order of $25 or more on my CTMH website this month. As soon as your order is confirmed I will send you out the link to the youtube video as well as the link to the DS files so you can easily throw on of these together. If you don't have DS then no worries because in the video I will walk you through all the measurements.

I hope you enjoyed! Happy Crafting.

The Best Things in Life Are Sweet: New Stamps!!

Hi Guys!!Today I have a really fun card that was super simple to throw together and would work for anyone who was having a birthday, or is just simply sweet.

This card uses a couple of brand new stamps from the Just For Fun Spring '17 release, along with some paper from The Paper Studio's All Seasons 4 pack. I love using paper packs because the paper is guaranteed to match making it so easy for you to add more than one pattern to your card.

That adorable "IC-Hot Fudge Sundae" stamp has been shown a couple of times on the blog and is so much fun to work with. The sentiment, IC-The Best Things in Life... sentiment just fits the card so well that I couldn't resist.

Being part of the DT we got to play with all the new stamps and I must say this is one of my favorite releases!! There are so many good ones that it's hard to choose a favorite, so make sure to head on over and check them out.

Thanks for stopping by today! Enjoy and Happy Crafting!

New Month, New Prizes

Welcome to March!! With a new month comes new prizes and give-a-ways, especially since that is my favorite thing to do!! The first give-a-way for this month will be awarded to the next person who sets up a CTMH party with me. This can be either an online party or a face to face crafting extravaganza....yay! Now let me show you this wonderful prize!

This mini album was made using the "Hello Lovely" paper line which can be found here. I love this line and think that it is just perfect for any upcoming holiday: Easter, Mother's Day, or even just the Spring season in general.
To show you how easy it can be to mix and match I decided to pair this paper line with the accessories from one of our core lines, Whimsy. These complements are perfect for any "Spring" project and can be found here.

If you are interested in hosting a party in March then make sure to email me. This mini album will not be around for long!

Happy Crafting.
