Creative Knockouts: Fall Card

2:00 AM 3 Comments
Welcome back. Today is a beautiful day so I'm going to bring you a brand new challenge from Creative Knockouts and of course a beautiful digital image! First things first, this week's challenge is "Fall" and is sponsored by Di's Digis who is generously giving one lucky crafter a $12 gift card to their online store!!

Now for some more fun. My lovely card this week just screams fall to me and is perfect for either a male or a female recipient.

The image is a scene from Whimsy Stamps that I printed out on cardstock and then colored in using my Alcohol based markers. The paper is from the "Three Seasons" paper pack from Hobby Lobby and is so very bold and vibrant that I wanted my image colors to match, hence why I went with the bold alcohol markers.

I then decided to use up some of my many buttons and tied some twine through the holes and adhered using medium glue dots. Remember when adding accessories add them in a triangle pattern to keep it "random" and to add in odd numbers.

Well there you have it, a really fun fall card for any occasion. I hope you enjoyed my project. Make sure to come on over and play along with us this week, you never know when you could be picked for a fabulous prize! Happy Crafting.

Batty Halloween Tags

9:59 AM 0 Comments
I have been making so many tags lately that I am sharing them in sets!! :) Plus, I am getting pretty good and I am ready to share some expertise, or maybe just a project for the day.

For these tags I used the Three Seasons Paper pack from Hobby Lobby along with some retired CTMH Halloween stickers and accessories. I went a little hog wild on them and just started having fun. My favorite part of these tags is the beautiful ribbons at the tops and those awesome and ever so funky pumpkins.

Well there you have it, a really quick and easy project (or two.) I hope you enjoyed my tags and are getting really into the Fall spirit. Make sure to come back by tomorrow to check out my Digital Thursday challenge and our all new Creative Knockouts Challenge!

Sunny Day: 3 in 1 Birthday Set

12:00 AM 1 Comments
Today is another beautiful day and another wonderful Anything Goes Challenge brought to you by Sunny Day Crafting.

For today's project I decided to make three different cards using the same paper kit, "Birthday Wishes" by Echo Park. I am always one to promote purchasing paper kits because I feel like you always get more bang for your buck. Since most kits include coordinating papers along with matching accessories you seriously can't go wrong.  It's everything you need for a project all in one place.

This line is geared towards a younger boys birthday, but as you can see I used it for a variety of different cards. It has a lot of fun designs and patterns including cupcakes, stripes, balloons, and even a set of journal cards that can be geared towards any light hearted, fun filled, birthday.

The first card I made was so simple to make. I simply cut a piece of solid colored cardstock into an A2 card base (5.5" x 4.25") and applied the journal card to the front at an angle. I then wanted to add a little bit of interest and decided to roll up the corner of the journal card and make a little bow for the cupcake. I then applied some of the stickers from the coordinating sticker sheet (I love kits!) and there you have it, card #1 done.

The second card was inspired from a card sketch in one of my reference books. Card sketches are such a wonderful starting point for cards and even for layouts. I use them all the time and feel like it takes a lot of work out of the initial starting process.

And then finally the last card I made by throwing a bunch of the stickers on some extra scraps of patterned paper. I eventually end up moving the cupcake over to the "fun" sentiment but never captured it on camera, my apologies.

I love getting the letter stickers and use them all the time to spell out sentiments, so don't ever overlook these.

I hope you enjoyed these three cards today and I hope that I helped to show you that you don't need fancy machines or items to make beautiful cards, oh and that paper kits are awesome!

If you create something wonderful this week please make sure to come on over and share it with us

Happy Crafting.

Halloween Embellishements: Pin Wheels

12:00 AM 0 Comments
Thanks for stopping by today as I show off my second Halloween (or any season, really) DIY embellishments! Now if you missed out on number one, DIY photo frames, you can find them here along with the "OG" Youtube Creator, Meg's channel here

Following along with Meg, I decided to move from those fun photo frames over to really fun and super easy pin wheels!! I loved making these and you can really add some variety, as I show you.

So you can make them any size as a stand alone and then add buttons, gems, sequins, die cuts, ect.. to the middle, or you can add sticks to them to add them to home decor (think cakes, centerpieces, ect..) and they are so very easy to make that you can make a ton of them in no time flat.

Although I highly recommend watching Meg's video, if you are short on time and are looking for really easy and basic instructions then you can find some here.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you were inspired to head out and create something wonderful. For more tutorials, lessons, and inspiration make sure to head on over to this page.

Sunny Days: Foil Card Set

12:00 AM 2 Comments
Welcome back to another "Anything Goes" challenge brought to you by Sunny Day Crafting. A few weeks ago I was cruising around the isles of Tuesday Morning and I came across a bunch of discounted paper crafting supplies, including this wonderful foil paper and a book of vellum sentiments, and could not wait to get crafting.

If you have never been in a Tuesday Morning store, I highly recommend going in and cruising around at least once. It's a discounted variety store and their crafting supply is awesome and super cheap.

I decided to keep these cards simple because I really wanted to showcase that beautiful purple foil. Following that same rule of thumb, I not only matted the foil layer with a wonderful purple card stock, but I also decided to leave the white backing on the sentiment.

I hope you enjoyed my projects for today and that you come on over and join us for our Anything Goes challenge. You have until Monday the 26th to come on over and join us.

Creative Knockouts: Winged Wonders

2:00 AM 3 Comments
Thanks for stopping by today as we celebrate a brand new Creative Knockouts Challenge! I love playing on this design team and experimenting with coloring different digital stamps from tons of spectacular companies and this week is no exception. Our theme this week is "Winged Wonders" and our fabulous sponsor is Emerald Faeries so make sure to come on over and play along.
http://anitasdigiart.blogspot.ca/p/emerald-faeries-stamps.html

For this week I chose to paint/color the Bindie image from Emerald Faeries online store.

For this card I printed the image onto watercolor paper then got out my inks and pens. I sponged some Tim Holtz Distress ink onto the sky background, then I sponged in the grass. For the image and all the adorable insects I used my alcohol markers and a wet paint brush to blend.

The rest of the card is pretty basic with some layers and twine wrapped around the card cover. I also carried that blue paper onto both inside flaps to give the card more weight. The "discover" sentiment is fussy cut out of some paper and then popped up using 3-D foam tape.

Again, our wonderful sponsor this week is Emerald Faeries week and they are offering one lucky winner a $5 gift card to their store so make sure to come on over to Creative Knockouts to play along.

Happy Crafting!

Halloween Embellishments: Photo Frames

11:42 AM 0 Comments
One of my favorite YouTube channels is Little Hot Tamale where Meg teaches you that you don't need fancy tools and items to make wonderful papercrafting projects, like these photo frames found under her Build Your Stash Series. In fact watching 4-5 of Meg's videos and next thing I know I have a box full of DIY Halloween Embellishments, it was really awesome!

Here check out these frames and then subscribe to ensure that you don't miss out on my other DIY embellishments.

Here are the same frames up close so you can check out the embellishments and flair.

That black shimmer tape is actually ribbon from the dollar store, same with the gold tails. I used the Chillingsworth Manor paper pack along with some retired CTMH Halloween Embellishments.

These frames are very easy to make without any fancy tools, but if you do have a fancy tool, say the Cricut, then I have made a file for you located here, which will allow you to make a ton of these in no time.

If you are free handing them, then no problem as Meg teaches you, simply cut a rectangle 3"x4" and then take a square punch or ruler and pencil are mark a 2" x 2" window and cut it out.

Thanks for stopping by today! Don't forget to download this fun freebie here. Happy Crafting!

Sunny Days Challenge

12:00 AM 4 Comments
Yes it's true, I am bringing you another Christmas card today and I promise this is the last one for the week. Today also marks the day that a brand new challenge starts over at Sunday Day Crafting, where it's always "Anything Goes."

Grab it

For today's card I dug out my Carta Bella "Winter Wonderland" paper line and my CTMH Sketch book "Originals." I also received some inspiration from my "Holiday Theme: Present" card swap in my online group, where we were challenged to use presents or toys somewhere on the card.

I simply love that large tag, which is where the presents are hidden!

This is a standard A2 card measuring 4.25" x 5." 5. I decided to add some vellum to the front to create a pocket to stick my tag into. The tag is not attached to the front of the card and can come off and be used, if desired. I also used some CTMH Cranberry Shimmer Trim to create a border, and to hide the adhesive from the vellum. I also used two different patterned papers on the card front, one for the pocket and one for the card base.

I hope you enjoyed this lovely card today and that you come over and play along with us at Sunny Day Crafting.  Here are the rules:

Christmas Window Card

12:00 AM 0 Comments
Thanks for starting your week with me! Today I have a really pretty Christmas card. I know it's still a little early for Christmas, but if I don't start making cards in January then I would never get through them all.

This card was made really easy and rather quickly using my Cricut Explore machine. The lovely plaid paper comes from The Paper Studio's Three Seasons paper pack. I created a square in design space and sliced out a circle, making the window layer very easy. I then took some green glitter from my stash and decided to use that as the background. The poinsettia is a die cut from the Cricut Christmas cartridge, pieced together in layers and topped off with some white shimmery paper. To give that window a little more I decided to pop the DSP plaid paper up using 3-D foam tape.

I hope you enjoyed my card today and that you stop by here tomorrow for a brand new challenge from Sunny Day Crafting.

Happy Harvest

11:32 AM 0 Comments
I am completely in love with the Chillingsworth Manor paper pack from Echo Park. It's completely Halloween, yet it doesn't have that same cheesy Halloween feel that you get from most paper packs. See check out today's card.

I am so pleased with the way this card came out. The original idea came off from Pinterest and I just mimicked it then added my own touches. The paper is all from Echo park. I fussy cut out the leaves and that pumpkin, which came from one of my very old unmounted rubber stamps. The brads are from My Minds Eye and that lovely lace washi at the bottom is from the dollar store!! Major Score!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Design Team Announcement!! Baby Boy Mini

12:00 AM 4 Comments
I have exciting news to share with you today!! The Design Team over at Sunny Day Crafting! is now back from summer break and has some new and very talented ladies. If you haven't heard about this blog then head on over there and check it out. This is such a fun group of ladies and the challenges are weekly Anything Goes challenges!! So make sure to come on over and play along every Tuesday.

This is a really dedicated and talented group of ladies and I am so excited to be along for the ride so to celebrate this really awesome occasion I have decided to finally share my "Boy" album.

This uses the same technique as my other albums and includes tons of flips, flaps, and tags!!

This paper line is really fun and definitely geared towards a bigger kid. There are tons of fun gears, signs, toys, and other big kid things like yo-yo's and tree swings.

One of the really nice features of this album design is that there are places for tags everywhere!! I love making tags because they are a really fun accessory that you can easily make from all of your leftovers. I made these tags using some extra paper pieces and some retired twine from CTMH.

I absolutely love the orange and blue color combination!! So much fun. Of course I always add some of my own accessories to these albums and since I have two little boys I have tons of extra boy embellishments, like this mustache one here which came from a pen pal swap.

I love all the airplanes and flips and flaps like the one pictured above. I just fussy cut one of the pre-printed designs on the paper and then glued the edge onto the page so the smaller page flips open.

The larger tags pictured below slides into the pocket and tucks away. They are so cute and would be perfect for picture holders or even journal cards where you keep your stories and memories.

This is the other side of the 1/2 page flaps. I love the bold patterns in this line.

The entire album has a chipboard cover and a wonderful binding system. I found the original pattern on My Sister Scrapper's YouTube channel found here. (BTW MSS is another great papercrafting resource so check her out, I'll be right here...)

Some more tags which are just journal cards cut out of the paper pack.

Oh and if you are looking for extra photo space, these are wonderful 6"x6" frames that tuck into the page  would be an excellent spot for pictures, souvenirs, or really anything at all.

The ribbon for these is stapled on and is another retired ribbon from CTMH. I love stapling on my tags, it's so quick and really adds to the tags.

I decided to leave the back plain, but you could decorate this side with DSP patterned paper if you desire.

Thanks for checking out my post today. If you are interested in checking out more of my minis you can find them here, I also have pen pal stuff here. Also make sure to come on over to Sunny Day Craftng and check out the other talented ladies on this new design team, and while you are there make sure to play along with our Anything Goes Challenge.

Happy Crafting!
