Be the reason....

Hopefully you follow me and saw my wonderful Black and White mini last week, but if not then I have the direct link to it right here. The reason I bring up that beautiful project is because today's card was made as a compliment to that project.

For this card I used a cut out card and strip banner from Carta Bella. I then dug deep into my stash and found some wonderful La Vie En Rose paper that I had from forever ago. I then decided to accent the front, keeping it simple, with some lovely silver beads.

For the inside I added a white space for words (I wrote a thanks for swapping letter in there) and then I accented with the small flower from that same Carta Bella line.

Thanks for stopping in today!

Be Happy Calypso

Hello and thanks for coming back over and checking out my newest creation. Man, have I been extremely busy lately. We decided to paint the boys bedroom last week, because my husband was on vacation, and one bedroom quickly turned into the bedroom, hallway, and stairs!! Oh, my!! But we finished it, well most of it, we only have a little bit of trim left to pain in the hallway and man does it all look so awesome!! So in short, I just wanted to let you know that it's now summer so my posts will be a little here and there...but keep following me because I will keep creating!

For today's card I decided to play around with the new paper line from CTMH called Calypso. I am always so hesitant to purchase paper from CTMH because I never like the way they look in the Idea Book, but then I get them and they are always such beautiful and fun lines to work with and this one is no different.

Everything on this card came from the Calypso line. I wanted to create something fun and spunky to add to my dwindling card collection and you can never have too many "happy day" or "happy birthday" cards. Here take a peak at the inside, which is decorated with washi tape and a rub on birthday phrase (which actually came from a previous swap I did.)

Well back to work, crafting, being a mom :) I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Add a Charm: Creative Knockouts

Thanks for stopping back in today. Since it's Thursday I happen to have a brand new digital stamp challenge brought to you by our lovely Creative Knockouts Design Team! This week we are challenging everyone to use Charms on your projects. As always, we have a great sponsor this week which happens to be: Oddball Art who is ready to give away 3 images to one lucky winner so come on and join us.
https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/OddballArtCo?section_id=11739318

For my card I decided to use Sweet Sai the Fairy and to make a "Best Wishes" type of card. I am using the 6"x6" "Fine and Dandy" paper pack by Echo Park and therefore wanted to keep the image nice and light looking so I quickly reached for my watercolor pencils which leave a very subtle and pastel looking image.

Here's a closer view of that beautiful image.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you join us for this week's Creative Knockouts Challenge.

Black & White with a splash of Red

Hello and Happy Wednesday everyone! Today I have what I consider to be my first successful mini PL (or pocket letter!) These things are such a great idea, but I get so lost when making Pocket Letters that I can never get one quite right. Well that is until I found this wonderful video from Lil' Hot Tamale! Meg does such a job at keeping things fun and simple - so thank you Meg for introducing me to a whole new world of easy pen paling. :)

Here is my take on the letter.

I decided to use our Swap theme White & Black with a Splash of red because I thought that was a really fun theme.

I received a beautiful pen pal project a couple of weeks ago and the crafter had mentioned that she hand made her rosette (which was absolutely beautiful!!) and I was instantly inspired and off to go figure out how to make these beautiful little (perfect for PL) embellishments!! And to no surprise, handmade embellishments are so beautiful and always so super simple!

P.S. If you do not know how to make these bad boys, then you tube it.. they are so easy and beautiful to make!

And now onto the back.
I simply love the white and black glitter paper embellishments!
To make these, I ran the glitter paper through my Cricut and in an instant
I had a bunch of butterfly's, stars, and hearts that I could easily add to my mini.

The background paper along with the tags all came from CTMH. The paper is from the La Vie En Rose line and the tag is from their wonderful "Packages, Boxes, and Bags" occasions stamp set. I then used a cranberry ink to decorate the tags. Along with washi from my stash I decided to help pull some shine through with some CTMH Red shimmer Trim. I also used some black and white Bella Blvd. accessories and some gems from my stash to complete the look.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you were inspired to create something beautiful.. and hopefully to try out a new Rosette Technique (or even make a bunch for your stash...you seasoned crafter..you :) )

Nautical Father's Day Card

Cool Beans by L.B. posted this wonderful Father's Day card last week and I fell in love with the card and the saying and I just knew that I had to make my own version of the card for my Father in Law.

Again what sold me on this card was the quote. I mean, it helped a lot that it had a nautical theme, which is in right now and one of my favorites, but it honestly was that beautiful quote.

I of course carried that lovely them onto the inside of the card.

Make sure to head on over and give the original card a peak, then come back and let me know what you think.

Thanks for stopping by today and Happy Monday.

Eat Up Layout!

Thanks for stopping back in today. This last week was a super huge week for us since my oldest, Doo, finished up his year of Pre-K and graduated and my youngest, Moose Man had both his first taste of "real" food (if you can call it that) and also rolled over for the first time. So if you can imagine I am a pretty proud Mama today.

Since Doo's graduation is this morning I decided to save that layout for next week and give you a fun and a little messy layout of Moose Man trying out his first bites.

I'm a little partial..but isn't he just the cutest?! Well good news is that I got some really awesome pictures of everyone feeding Moose Man, yes we love to do things as a family around here! I love the faces he was making!! Adorable!! And even though he made some yucky faces at us, he ended up loving the Rice Cereal and now gets really excited every night at 5pm when I sit him down to feed him his dinner. I can't wait until we try out some real food... can anyone say hello avocado!!

Ok, back to scrapbooking. This layout has a couple of different things going on. I not only used Picasa to create a 5"x 7" collage, but I also handmade some stickers and some die cuts. This was my first time creating a collage for my layout and I am not sure why it took me so long to do this but it's a really great way to get tons of photos into a one photo layout. Speaking of which I used the Split Coast Stampers sketch challenge to create this layout. Here take a peak at the sketch.

I also mentioned that I made my own stickers and man what a time saver this was. So let's see pretty much everything except the sentiments was originally a die cut which I switched over and used the print and cut feature in Design Space. I then decided to run the whole page through my Xyron and applied adhesive on the back of it prior to cutting it, hence creating my own stickers as easy as pie.

Well there you have it one happy mama and one happy baby! Thanks for stopping in today. Have a great weekend!

Digi's & Challenges

Welcome to Digital Thursday where we are starting a brand new challenge over at Creative Knockouts. This week we would love to see all of your Summer Fun projects. This is not my week for design team submissions, but I could not help playing along.

This project was inspired by the CK theme as well as a couple of other challenges. Over at
Get Creative Challenges, as well as The Crazy Challenge, we have tic-tac-toe boards which are always a blast and a challenge. Here take a peak at them both.
Get Creative Challenges

For this one I decided to go with Purple, Doily, and a Digital Stamp. I was tempted to add some washi tape (especially since it's my new favorite) but I wanted to play along with both boards and it was tougher to use the washi. Moving on to the Crazy Challenge board.

The Crazy Challenge

For this one I went with a die cut(the doily), design paper (Confetti Wishes from CTMH) and of course the flowers in the digi.

I also decided to use the Mojo Monday Sketch for this week as my base. Hey, go big or go home right :)

I hope that was enough to keep you busy and of course that you enjoyed my project. Make sure to stop by some of these challenge sites and play along with them. Then come back tomorrow for my Scrappin' on Friday post!

Just some Vinyl Projects

I love playing around with HTV - Heat Transfer Vinyl- and making my own shirts, bags, and apparel and today I have a couple of custom orders which I have made for friends and family.

Every Father's Day mu husband takes all of the boys (along with Papa and our Uncle) and they go on an "All boy camp/fishing weekend" and Doo is finally old enough to get super excited about this weekend so I figured some custom shirts were in order.

I made these two for my Father In Law and our Uncle, Doo's is on the way. My husband also got one that said "I'm Raising Mine" instead of "I raised mine." Custom apparel make such wonderful gifts and hey it's free advertising!

The next one was made for my Step-Father for his May birthday. He is an all American Harley guy so I figured this image was just perfect for him. Make sure to check out that detail in the skull...yep I'm pretty impressed with it. :)

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you enjoyed these projects and that you come back tomorrow for a digital Thursday post.

SPS Challenges and Special Day Card

Last week over at Split Coast Stampers we were challenged with various themes including Polka Dots and Stripes, a color challenge, and a sketch challenge and since it was my first time playing along I decided to go big and combine all of them and today's card is what I came up with.

Now, this is no where near what I initially was going for, however, I had some Cricut problems and this is what got and I am happy with the results. Hey, sometimes the road traveled leads us to a new destination..or something..right?! Here is a closer view of the front.

I used my Fuze tool to create a sparkling pocket and then used this to make a shaker card. I then popped up that DSP (poolside from Colorbok) using 3-D tape.

The color combination we were challenged with included some blues and greens and is shown below.

I then used the following sketch as a starting guide.

I normally would not have placed the three flowers there, but following the sketch and being behaved I figured that I should just keep them there.

If you have not check out this site yet then make sure to head on over there and play along. This is a community filled with card crafter's so be prepared to get friendly and to have a lot of fun!

DCD Challenge and A Hello Card

Happy Monday! Over the weekend I received so many goodies that it was really hard for me to wait until Monday to show some of them off... but I am teaching Doo patience and so I waited :)

Today's card is a quick card that uses the new CTMH Calypso line. Now I was not totally in love with this line at first, but I ordered it anyway, and when I got it I quickly realized that it is a pretty line and it's so perfect for the summer.

The dsp and the upper embellishment came from the Calypso line and lucky for me the rest of it came from the other goodies which I received this weekend. As I have previously mentioned I take part in a lot of different swap groups and lucky for me I had a swap partner who has excellent taste and sent along these fabulous tags and die cuts. Yay me!! I just couldn't resist putting them on this card to create a very feminine soft card for any occasion.

Also over the weekend I received a Facebook PM from Georgiana over at Die Cuttin' Divas with a really fun sketch, so of course I jumped all over the chance to play along with those ladies. Here take a peak at the sketch.

Unfortunately their challenge closes today, but the nice thing about sketches is that you can use them whenever you are in a rut.. so I will tuck this one away with my other ones and maybe come back to it again on a rainy day.

I hope that you enjoyed my card for today and I hope to see you back here tomorrow for some Split Coast Stampers fun.

Make It Happen - PL Layout

Happy Friday! Today I like to show off my layouts from the albums that I put together and it has been some time since I showed off a PL layout so of course that is exactly what I am going to do for you today. This layout is part of Doo's album and is a simple recap of some of my favorite photos from March. This kid is so photogenic and I love capturing his many faces and moods, so I hope you enjoy.

The cards are from different kits and are embellished with some things from my stash. I am taking part in a DIY journal card swap so I have been playing around and practicing decorating them. Below I show you some closer views.

I love these photos and that's what my top journal card is all about.

That white card was actually made and sent to me as part of a swap and I could not resist adding it to the larger black and white card and making it part of this album. Isn't it so lovely!

Well the baby alarm is going off, so I hope you enjoyed my post today and I hope to see you back here on Monday! Have a happy & safe weekend!

CK: Fancy Flourishes - Hello There Card

Hello and welcome back to Digital Thursday over here at JeniLeigh Designs. Today we have a wonderful and brand new challenge over at Creative Knockouts where we are featuring cards with "Fancy Flourishes" on them. As always we have a wonderful sponsor Lemon Shortbread who is generously giving one lucky winner 3 free digi's! So make sure to come on over and play along.

For today's card I have decided to use Lemon Shortbread's Cupcakes Delight Girl. This is such a fabulous image and perfect for a birthday card, which is what I made.

I was practicing my coloring with this image and I swear I colored it over and over again like 6-7 times and then I picked my favorite one overall. Sometimes you just have to keep practicing until you get it.  The paper I used is from the Kaleidoscope line from CTMH and the sentiment is from a partner swap I took part in.

Thanks for stopping by today. Make sure to come on over to Creative Knockouts and play along with us. The challenges run from Wed. to Tuesday :)

Nautical Flip Book

Well these flip books are a huge hit and they are so fun to make so it's a double bonus kind of day! Today I am actually showing you a nautical flip book, which happens to be one of my favorite themes. I have lots of pictures so here take a look.

This paper came from the Paper House "Nautical Pack" which included all embellishments as well. Again Nautical is one of my favorite themes so it was hard for me to choose just one paper line.

The first page features a flip on each side along with some wonderful embellishments.

This is what happens when you flip both flaps on page one. I made sure to add some wonderful goodies for the recipient. Take a close look and see those adorable little flags I made with some of the left over scrap paper (they are in the pocket next to the "love anchors the soul" sticker.

I love all of the anchors in this paper pack, but my favorite parts of the paper are the sea creatures! How unique and adorable and I love how they are not fully colored in. I also adore the quotes in this pack.

When you open up the flap on page two you are taken to another pocket full of goodies. Most of the goodies I used are left over from the paper pack (or are made from the paper pack) this makes it super nice and simple to put together.

Well there you have it, another wonderful flip book. I hope that you are enjoying these. If you are interested in swapping any of these (or anything) feel free to join us at the Paper, Paper, Paper swap group on facebook. See you there!
