Creative Knockouts: Outside Fun

Welcome to another edition of Digital Thursdays here on Jeni:eigh Designs. This week I had some troubles with my image as I tried really hard to focus on shading and playing around with my markers. I think that overall the card was decent though and it definitely fits in with the Outside Fun challenge we are hosting over at Creative Knockouts this week, so needless to say I ran with it.

This image is a really fun image offered by, our sponsor this week, Lacy Sunshine. The image is called Eleanor and Pickles Carnival Fun. If you get a chance head on over to this store and take a peek at what they offer, it's one of my favorite digital suppliers and they are offering one lucky winner three free digi's this week.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Embossed Deepest Sympathy

Well D-man is still off from school this week so I am going to keep this post (and card) nice, easy, and simple today. I absolutely love the look of white on kraft and this card shows exactly that.

The inspiration for this card came from Pinterest and after I inked the flower in white ink I realized that it did not pop off the kraft the way I wanted it to, so I reached for my embossing powder.

Embossing is a really fun and great technique to use when you are searching for a more elegant look. Some tips I have learned over the years include to use a pigment based ink (instead of a dye based one), always have atleast two embossing powders on hand (clear and white), and let your heat gun get up to temperature before melting the powder.

I kept the inside of this card pretty basic. I added a piece of white cardstock and a Love much sentiment to it. I figured that the green ribbon would add a little bit of color and I colored in the flowers with a purple marker (for the same reason.)

Well there you have it a nice and easy post for today. Make sure to come back tomorrow, and Friday, for this week's challenges.

Another Fuse Card along with a video!

Hello and welcome back! I used to have a segment called Makin' It on Monday and I would like to dedicate today's post to that. Today I decided to make a video (I'm still new at this so bear with me) showing off the new fuse tool. I made my first card using the tool on this post and I was pretty excited about how it came out.. and today's card is another beautiful card.

And here's the video which I created. This video shows me making the card and showing off the Tool Kit.

Let me know what you think! Thanks for stopping by today.

New Fuse Tool!!

Guess what I got??!! HSN was having a Craft special, you know to celebration national craft month, and I made my first ever HSN purchase and picked up the Fuse tool!! I am so excited about this new tool and I can't wait to play around with it some more.

Now for those of you who do not know the Fuse tool is just that..a tool that fuses paper, plastics (like page protectors) and embellishments together.. and man is it a lot of fun! So far I have only played around with the card making kit that came with the bundle, but I cannot wait to get my hands busy with some custom pocket scrapbooking!! The possibilities are endless and include any 3-D item like Moose Man's hair..if it ever grows long enough to get cut, or even vacation memorabilia ... I am always saving the weirdest things like sand.

Anyway today I have a card that I made using this new tool and I just love the way it came out.

Ok so I apologize that the picture is a little dark, I was playing around with my new light box and guess it looked better on my camera than it actually did. But anyway this complete card came from the card kit included with the tool bundle. I took their card bases and I cut them so I could easily make 2-3 cards from one of their bases (yes I am that frugal.) The bundle also comes with three accessory kits, including two gold accent packs, leaving you plenty of options to make cards or layouts.

For the card above I did not use any adhesive. I used fusible paper and simply fused everything together. It took a second for me to get the grip and speed of the tool but after completing one card I got the hang of it. My favorite part is how this particular tip leaves a "sewn" look on the card, no more faux sewing with my gel pen! The bundle came with 3 different tips and I am sure they all leave a different "trail" behind them which should be a lot of fun to play around with.

Well thanks for stopping by today! I hope you were inspired.

Creative Knockouts: Recipe Challenge

Welcome to Digital Thursday! I am really beginning to love digital stamps! Today we start a brand new challenge over at Creative Knockouts where we are being challenged to follow a recipe containing:

Recipe:
1 Digi image
1 sentiment
2 pattern papers
2 different embellishme
nts

How much fun!! I'm not going to lie, this one was a little bit of a challenge once I got to the embellishments part, but I figured it out.

I used an image called Kawaii Bear on Stack of Presents which is offered by our wonderful sponsor this week Oddball ArtThese guys are giving away 3 free digital stamps to one lucky winner. Here take a closer look at the image.

I used watercolor pencils to color it in and then I cut it out with my print and cut feature on my Cricut. And for the inside I used the awesome stamp set "Make a wish quotes" from Friskars. I picked up this stamp set last weekend and fell right in love with it.

Thanks again for coming by today and don't forget to head on over to Creative Knockouts and play along with us this week.

Easter Tags & Treat Bags

Why did the Easter Egg hide? Because he was a little chicken!!

Happy Wednesday and welcome back. Today I have some special treat bags to share with you, and of course some Easter humor! As many of you know, my son is in pre-school and with pre-school comes an array of holiday parties and this week is no different with an Easter party coming up on Thursday. Since I love Easter and my son loves his friends I have decided to make some special treat bags filled with goodies so he can help celebrate Easter with all of his friends.

These bags were so easy to make and are filled with candy, bookmarks, and coloring pages. I also decided to get a little fancy and to make some bunny tags, another super simple thing.

These tags came from the Easter Bunny file over at Marjorie Ann Designs and happens to be one of my favorite Easter files. It also happens to be one of my sons because he had about 20 to choose from and this is the one he wanted.

To make the tags I simply uploaded the print and cut file (not the SVG) into my design space and then sized it down and got to work. I chose to use the print and cut feature because I had to make 20 of them and this feature saved me time and energy (which is crucial for a mom of 2!) I love that Marjorie Ann offers the flexibility in her files and I also love that my Cricut does as well!

Well I hope you enjoyed my post today and are getting some good Easter ideas. For some more inspiration make sure to check out this post for a layout idea, this post for some cards that also use the Easter Bunny file, or even perhaps this post for some more treat basket ideas. Thanks for stopping by!

Merry Christmas: Art Impressions Style

Christmas in March??!! Yep that's right and that's really the only way to keep up to date with all of those Holiday cards. Plus, I thought that the crafter's over at 52CCT had a really fun challenge so I jumped right on the chance to play along with them.

So what's the challenge you ask... it's to add a funny sentiment to your Christmas Card! Who could honestly pass that one up?

The DT over there have some really great cards and it was fun and challenging to come up with something spectacular, but I think I did it.

This image is from none other than Art Impressions, which if you have not heard of these guys you need to head on over there and take a peek..they have some wonderful and very amusing stamps. Here's a closeup of that image and sentiment.

And of course I brought that green accent paper into the inside. I also decided that my "Celebrate the Season" stamp would fit the card very nicely.

Oh and if you were wondering where the layout of the card came from then look no further than the MOJO Monday sketch of the week which looks like this.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you were inspired and will come on over and join us for these challenges.

Easter Layout & Challenges

Welcome to another fabulous Sunday where I am bringing you not one but two challenges today!! That's my special way of saying thanks for joining me on this balmy Sunday!

The first challenge I have for you is a photo inspirational challenge brought to you by the lovely lades (including myself) over at Sunny Day Crafting. These inspirational photos are so much fun to play around with and you can honestly interpret these in any way. You like pink, have at it..no how about the bunny, still no.. then maybe the green outside the window..Easter, animals.. I'm telling you the possibilities are endless as you can see with our wonderful and gifted design team.

The next challenge and piece of inspiration comes from a new (at least to me) sketch challenge blog called Sketch and Scrap. This blog is fabulous and offers many different challenges which you can play along with. I chose to mimic this sketch in my layout.

And finally here is my project for today! I wanted to stay on top of my scrapbooking so I jumped ahead a couple of weeks and put together an Easter layout. Of course I do not have the photo for the layout yet, but I know the boys will be wearing pastels so I thought these papers were fitting.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you were inspired to head over to those challenge blogs and play along with us.

ScrapMuch?! Challenge Sweet Dreams Layout

Happy Friday! This week we are back on track which means I have a scrapbook layout to bring to you! This page was inspired by the brand new challenge over at ScrapMuch?! and showcases my wonderful moose man at 2 months old... doing what he does best, which is sleeping.

For this layout I decided to use the Bubbles The Bear Sweet Dreams file from Marjorie Ann Designs. This file has some excellent pictures in it and was just perfect for these photos. Here is what the whole file looks like.

Bubbles The Bear Sweet Dreams SVG Cutting Files Includes Clipart

Of course, I also used the layout from the ScrapMuch?! brand new sketch challenge which looks like this.

You have all month to play along with this sketch or any other sketches which the girls post over at ScrapMuch?!

Thanks for stopping in today and make sure to come back here on Sunday for a brand new photo challenge!

Creative Knockouts: Spring is in the Air

Welcome to Thursday and here Thursday's only mean one thing... Digital Thursday!! As with every Thursday today we have a brand new challenge over at Creative Knockouts and this week we are  celebrating Spring.

For this week's card I tried something a little new and colored in a coloring page instead of a regular digital stamp. Now what's the difference, you ask, well a digital stamp tends to have more detail and is often made for crafter's by crafter's where a coloring page tends to be a little more basic. Anyway, here is what I came up with.

I really could not pass up that image for our Spring Challenge....plus I really love that I got a chance to use this super old school stamp on the inside. "True friends are those who really know you but Love you Anyway." Great stamp right :)

The sponsor this week is Di's Digis who is generously giving one lucky winner a $12 gift certificate to their store. You have until Wed. the 23rd to link up with us so breathe in that Spring air, get creative, and come share.

Vinyl, Vinyl, & Some DIY Apparel

I absolutely love working with vinyl and there are many different kinds of vinyl and believe me vinyl can literally go on anything!! I think that's what makes it so much fun. My favorite kind of vinyl to work with is HTV or heat transfer vinyl (which is not as scary to work with as I once thought.)

For today's post I wanted to share a couple of my recent vinyl shirt projects that I have made. The first one is my camping shirt and came from a file that a friend shared a while back. Vinyl is so much fun because you can literally design anything then just cut it out and iron it on to anything...so in short terms it leaves you a lot of creativity and room to play.

I truly love camping so I took this design and I put it onto a zip up hoodie that I had purchased from the store. The whole project took me about a half hour all together. The longest part of vinyl is designing and then weeding (or pulling all of those crazy circles out of the "a's" and "o's."

The next shirt became the party favors for my son's Mario Birthday party and to create 10 of them it cost me less than $15!!! Talk about awesome and cheap party favors.

This vinyl was a little thicker to work with and quickly became lesson number one in vinyl...Vinyl does have different levels of thickness and I prefer Siser Vinyl when I am working with HTV.

So I hope you enjoyed my projects for today. You can view these and other projects in my store on my facebook page or you can email me for a free consultation.

Thanks for stopping in and feel free to come back here tomorrow to play along with our Creative Knockouts Challenge.

Make a Wish: Besties Birthday Card

Today I have a great card that was inspired by the sketch over at Paper Play Sketches. I simply love working off sketches and sketch designs because I feel like it takes a lot of the hard work away from the design process and leaves you with nothing but fun. If you agree then make sure you head on over to this blog and give the sketch a try.

Here is the sketch and you have until Tuesday March 22nd to play along.

This was a really fun sketch to mimic. Here is my take on it.

These papers and stickers (banner and sentiment sticker) come from the Kraiser Craft "Spring Bloom" collection. I thought this collection was a perfect Spring collection and it came together very easy. That wonderful little image is from the Besties Collection by Sherri Baldy, who I am quickly becoming a huge fan of.  And the sketch was inspired by the sketch over at Paper Play Sketches and looks like this.

I also decided that I would use up more paper if I started to decorate the inside of my cards as well so I pulled that orange flower paper in and stamped a cute little "Happy Birthday to someone specal" sentiment. This was I am not hoarding pounds of paper ;)

Thanks for stopping in today.

The Guys & The Monkey Bars Layout (Challenges)

Happy Monday! I hope that you had a chance to join us over this past weekend introducing some of those beautiful new Marjorie Ann Designs cut files and digital stamps. I know that I cannot wait to start playing around with some of her brand new digi's. Does anyone else feel that digital stamps and coloring can be so addicting?? Almost as addicting as scrapbooking.

For today's post I have a layout which was inspired by the lovely ladies that put together the wonderful Scrappy Friends monthly inspiration. These ladies run three separate blogs and get together at the beginning of the month to challenge you to create a layout using a sketch, a mood board, and a "this or that" theme and I often try to incorporate all three into my layout. So here is this months take on those challenges.

These photos were taken a couple of months ago, but I had to scrap them since it was Doo's first time across Grandma's monkey bars by himself!! This is such a huge feat for the little man since he has been working on those monkey bars for 5 years now and he finally got them by himself!!! Well at least most of the way, which in mom terms counts.

Here are the inspirational pieces that I used.

Creating with Paper and More mood board. I was a little stuck on this one since I do not celebrate St. Patrick's Day all that much so the shamrocks and holiday theme would not be easy. Then I saw that picture on the bottom with those great colors and that beautiful flower and that quickly inspired me to use those colors and of course the pictures that I used are from nature (like flowers..)

I also used these two challenges which are more self explanatory.

Rochelle Spears, who always has a great option card available. Of course in my layout I went with polka-dots on the yellow paper and again on my tag.

Then there's the awesome sketch by GrandDiva

The only thing I changed on the sketch was to make the bottom two pictures on the sketch one picture on my layout because I changed the orientation of it.

As with most scrapbooking challenges you have all month to play along with 1, 2, or 3 of these challenges so I hope I have inspired you to create something beautiful and that you come and play along with us.

Thanks for stopping by

Marjorie Ann Designs Day 2 Easter Hop

Welcome to Day #2 of Marjorie Ann Designs Easter Hop!! If you missed out on Day #1 then you can head on over to here and check out my wonderful Bunny Baskets that I made.

For today's project I got busy and made a couple of shaped Easter cards. These are super simple cards to make if you only have an image, or better yet you can hop on over to Marjorie Ann Designs Store and purchase a shaped card (on sale right now!!) and let someone else do all the work for you!!! There are a number of themes available and I use them often because they are that easy.

And for my first card I did just that.

This card was made using the Hoppy Easter Shape card which you can find on sale here. These cards are so easy to put together and serve a dual purpose since you can also use that wonderful image to make your own designs. P.S. Don't you just love those little peeps!!

So moving right along, because I hear a baby stirring, the second card I made is also from a Marjorie Ann Design file and shows you how versatile they really can be. I hope you went back and checked out my project from yesterday because this next card uses the same file as that one. The file is called Easter Bunny and can be found here. Yesterday I used that baby bunny on the bottom to create some really fun Easter Decor and today I decided to use the accessories with a file I had on had to create this project.

So here is what the Marjorie Ann Designs Easter file looks like.

Easter Bunny SVG Cutting Files Includes Clipart

It comes with all of those really fun Easter Eggs which I thought was just perfect for my Basket Shaped SVG card. Of course I added my own touches to it but this whole file fits right in with Spring and can be used for so many projects.

Don't forget to come on over to our facebook page to collect your freebie of the day and to play along with some of our games. You can also head on over to my facebook page and comment on my post for you chance to win a gift card from Marjorie Ann Designs!!

Thanks for stopping in today and Happy Weekend!

Marjorie Ann's Easter Hop

Hi and welcome to a fabulous Friday! I know I normally have a scrapbook layout for you on Friday's but this week's page will have to wait until Monday because I have a special treat for you today!

Marjorie Ann Designs is a fabulous Clip Art/SVG file store which offers many of the files I use every week right here on my blog and to help us celebrate Easter Marjorie Ann has decided to launch a bunch of new images (including Digi Stamps!!!) Yay!! I am so excited about this and as a way to get these beautiful new files out to the public the Design Team and I have decided to host an Easter Facebook Hop. Now if you have never done a hop before they are super simple and you just start at one page (like mine found here) and you follow us along stopping at each of the DT's pages. Now since there are only eight of us taking part the hop should be fairly quick and of course you will get to see the wonderful and talented design team at work.. plus there is a super special freebie at the end so you won't want to miss out!

So, let's get right down to it. I decided to make a wonderful 3-D project today which is going to look absolutely amazing on my Easter Dinner Table. Here take a peak.

These adorable little baskets were made using a Berry Basket SVG file in Design Space. I then decided to take the Easter Bunny file from Marjorie Ann Designs (found here) and attach that adorable floppy eared bunny. I still can't get over how cut he/she is!!

Now since it's all family coming to my Easter Dinner I decided that I would use these cute little baskets as place holders and my son "D" was so excited to take "his" for a test drive..here take a peak at one all set up.

That's right surprise!! Everyone can munch on some goodies while they are waiting for dinner to finish cooking. How cute right!

Well thanks for stopping in today. Make sure to follow me by email (right over on the right side bar) because our Hop will continue on tomorrow and in the near future I will have part two of these wonderful little baskets! Have a great weekend and I'll see you back here tomorrow for a brand new file showcase!

Reminder: Head on over to my facebook page for your free file and make sure to comment on my post for your chance to win a free gift card to Marjorie Ann Designs. Comments on this post are welcome and appreciated but will not be entered into the drawing.
