Be You.. Card

Happy Monday! Today I have a card that was made using the Cool As Cucumber pack from JelliBean Soup Designs. I absolutely adore this paper pack and how fun all of the colors are. Plus when you purchase the paper pack you get this really fun set of pocket cards and that is exactly where my focal card came from.

When I read this card I just couldn't get enough of it. I love how bold and how wonderful that saying is and I figured this would be the perfect card for everyday, graduation, or simply telling someone how wonderful they are. Who doesn't need a little boost once in a while.

The little butterfly's were actually fussy cut from one of the patterned papers and I love how they turned out after I popped them up with some 3-D foam tape. I also decided to add a little twine to the corner just to give the card more interest. Other than that this was a pretty easy card to throw together.

Thanks for taking a look today and I hope you were inspired to create something wonderful.

100% Sweet Layout

Welcome to Friday! Which in my land of crafting means scrapbook layout day!! Today I have another great sketch challenge brought to you by ScrapMuch?! As the weeks go on and on with this DT I am becoming more and more comfortable with these sketches and with adding my interpenetration onto them and as you can tell from this week I did a little swapping and added my own style to it.

Here is a close up of all of those accessories. I used a variety of packs to complete this page.

And here is the sketch from ScrapMuch?! I decided to use the "I love you.." saying on the side banner as the left side banner on the sketch. I thought this gave it a really nice and clean interpretation. I also thought that the 100% sweet title was so perfect for this page since he's my sweet man plus he's eating an ice pop in 20 degree weather (just pointing that out.)

Since I flipped and flopped the page I decided to add the journal writing to the top of my layout using a white gel pen.

Thanks for stopping by today! Remember you have all month to head on over to ScrapMuch?! and play around with this or any of our sketch/color challenges. Have a great weekend!

Easter's Right around the Corner!

I know I keep saying it but before we know it Easter will be here and it's so hard to believe how fast this year is zooming right by! So of course for today's card I have a little Easter inspiration along with a brand new sketch challenge site that you should totally head over and play along with.

So I know that it's Thursday (how could I forget) and that I typically do a digital image on Thursday's but after the home remodeling and the birthday party this weekend I am still in catch up mode so you will have to go along with me. Plus, my image today could easily become a clip art image which is similar to a digi so it kind of counts.

So this wonderful card was made using the Paper Play Sketches challenge for this week (it just started yesterday and runs for two weeks!) I flipped it and tweaked it a little to fit that lovely die cut image onto the card. Here is the sketch.

And that beautiful die cut is from none other than Marjorie Ann Designs and is a file called Easter Quack Up which can be found here. This is a really adorable and fun file to play with and is part of a larger set which looks like this.

Easter Quack Ups Cutting Files-Includes Clipart

Oh yea and that beautiful paper is from the Kaleidoscope Collection from CTMH. It's a super beautiful and very spring time paper collection and I thought it fit in just lovely with my Easter card.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you were inspired and I hope you join us over at Paper Play Sketches.

Batches of Thank You Cards

Over the past weekend we celebrated my son's 5th birthday party! We had a bunch of friends and family up and decided to head out to a kid's fun center and boy did we have a blast. We are so very fortunate that we have so many friends and family that are willing and able to come from out of town and help us celebrate these wonderful days. But like every other birthday party it takes a lot of time and planning and when it's over you are left in the dust completely exhausted with the looming "sending out thank you cards" fog. Well today's post is here to save you!

Today I decided to take a very easy sketch and to make a set of batch cards so that way I could send out 20 cards this week without missing a beat. Notice how I said "I took an EASY sketch" and just copied it over multiple times. The easy part is key because it allows you to make a whole bunch of cards at once...like an assembly line.

In order to stay on top of cards it's always nice to be able to batch make a set of cards, especially ones that say thank you because you never want to neglect or forget to thank all of the wonderful people who come and do such awesome and nice things for you. However, in the midst of birthday chaos we had two sets of friends who suffered some serious losses this week and I also needed to get cards out to them, so I simply changed out the sentiment in my batch cards and wah-lah I had some nice "thinking of you" cards as well.

Well there you have it a great set of cards that took me about 30 minutes to complete. I hope you enjoyed today's post and I hope to see you back here soon.

First Easter Card!

Well first there was New Years, then there was Valentine's Day, and now we are moving right along to Easter and I couldn't be more excited! Easter is by far one of my favorite holidays and I am so excited to start working on my Easter Cards for this year.

For today's card I decided to use the new freebie up at our Marjorie Ann Designs facebook group found here. That's right I said freebie so make sure to head on over there and grab one for yourself :)

Here is the beautiful image and the card I created using The Paper Studio's "All Season's Three" paper pack - I just adore the paper!

It's a great image and the best news is that it is completely colored for you so you really only have to print it and add it to your card and wah-lah easy as pie you have your first Easter card done.

Well thanks for stopping by today and I hope you enjoyed my project.

ScrapMuch?! Challenge

Happy Friday! Today I am featuring a page that was made using this week's ScrapMuch?! Challenge Sketch. I was having a lot of fun with this sketch and I might have went a little too far with the blue beads but they were new and fun so I went with it.

Most of what I used was from the Cool As Cucumber paper line by Jillibean Soup. I love everything about this line from the colors to the patterns and the embellishments!

Here is the sketch for this week.

Make sure to come on over and play along with us at ScrapMuch?! you have all month to play with any of our sketches or even out color challenge.

...In the Rain...

It's been pretty rainy and icy here lately and today I have the perfect card to lift up your spirits! I also have a couple of fun weekly challenges including the new Creative Knockouts "In Stitches" challenge sponsored by The Paper Shelter

http://www.thepapershelter.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1&zenid=hgp5cmp6tmdi6uk2o0s3e6eq07

These guys offer some really beautiful images and I love using them! Today I decided to get out my Carta Bellla "Boy Oh Boy" line and show how feminine it really can be by using the image Autumn Love.. I know Boy Papers with Feminine touch?!?!! AND Autumn in the Spring!! But really, here check it out.

And that beautiful image.

I used some liquid glue on top of the umbrella to add an additional rain touch. And I love how the aqua dots (CTMH) finished off the "rain" on DSP part of the card.

In fact, I was having so much fun with this card that I decided to print a little phrase and add it to the inside.

<3

So as I said I have a couple of challenges for you today. I have the wonderful Creative Knockouts "In Stitches" challenge that just started today and I also was inspired by the Mojo Monday Sketch for this week.

This sketch mainly inspired my background paper layout. I really enjoyed using that "block" type pattern. I also thought that the diagonal line instead of the straight line in the middle would add a little pizzazz and I loved adding that third pattern. Of course my stitching comes in with that really fun blue paper on the right.

I also decided to go with a flower that I picked up in a "Jot" collection.  Thanks for stopping in today! I hope you enjoyed my project :)

Mario Bros. Cupcake Toppers

Ok, so if you know me at all you probably know that my little D-man is going to be the big 5!! in less than a week and to celebrate this HUGE occassion we have decided to do a party in honor of the Super Mario Brothers who were totally awesome in my childhood and will hopefully fill the same purpose in my kids childhood! If you missed any of this party decor (like the invites!!) you can see it here. Now I know it's getting closer and closer so stay tuned for my other wonderful Mario Bros. decor and gifts...think HTV and Yoshi!!

So these adorable little cupcake toppers are from the Marjorie Ann Design file called Mario Brothers (which is featured below.) I just took the "Gumba" file (yep that's that little guys name....who knew?!) and cut out a bunch at 3" tall. After I had them all assembled I used a strong adhesive (CTMH's liquid glass) to attach the die cut to a bunch of 4" wooden skewers that I happened to have in my pantry ... and wah-lah some Gumba Cupcake Toppers for little man's party this weekend! I love that I can add my own flair to my son's party.

Mario Brothers SVG Cutting Files Includes Clipart

Awesome right?!! Make sure to head back and checkout those invites. There is so much you  can do with this file. Thanks for stopping by today.

Easy Valentine's + Design Space Tutorial

I know I am a little late on posting this, but sometimes I get just so caught up on projects that there are not enough days in the week to show them all to you :) So today I am showing off some easy Valentine's Day cards that I made for the D-man to bring into Pre-K last Friday for their party. These were so easy to make and I will walk you through the steps one by one.

So here are the invites:

I made twenty of them using three designs and the Create A Critter Cartridge. I wanted it so that the kids could color in the images, almost like a digital stamp except with the cartridge images. See a closer view here.

The first thing I did was cut down the base mat and dsp (designer series paper/pattern paper) down to a standard card size (4.25"x5.5") and adhered the two layers together using my Xyron machine. I then got to work in Cricut Design Space. After I had the image drawn out I used my Cricut to "write" the image onto some white card stock. This is very similar to cutting the image out except you add your pen into the pen holder and the image is drawn out (see below for tutorial.) I then took some twine and wrapped up a couple of crayons around the bottom and there you have it.

So for the tutorial.

Ok so to do this you simply insert the image into your design space canvas by clicking "insert image" and typing in any image that you own. I found that this works best with cartridge images and not so well with uploaded images.

I then clicked on the image and when the dialog box opens up I start going to work under the layers tab. The dialog box is that shaded out box on the right under the word first. The very first thing you need do is to make sure that all of the layers of your images are shown. This means that all of the eye balls look clean like on my screen shot. If a layer is not shown you will see a line going through that eyeball and you will need to click on it. In this example all of my images are shown..in my video below I will show you how to click on the eye to show all layers if by chance one of your layers happens to be hiding. This step is so simple and easy but if you get lost don't hesitate to let me know.

Next you  click on the little scissors image next to each layer. See it there in that little circle. When you do this another dialog box will open and across the top you will see 4 different options including cut, print, and write, click on the pen or the writing icon and the small scissor icon will change to a pen icon. You will also see all of the color leave your image.

This is also the box where you can play around with marker color.. I typically leave mine on black since the color comes from the pen/marker you put in your machine not what color you mark on this screen (this screen is just for preview). And there you have it you are now all ready to write out your outline image or your digital stamp :)

Here is my jazzy video walking you through the steps.

Again let me know if you have any questions or need any help! Thanks for stopping by today.

ScrapMuch?! Sketch Challenge: Welcome Sunshine

Welcome back and Happy Friday! Friday's around here mean layout days for me and I get so excited and into scrapbooking that I love finishing the week with a great layout! This week we are featuring a really simple and fun sketch over at ScrapMuch?! and I knew right away the papers that I wanted to use for it. Here take a peak at the sketch and then at my take.

So super fun and simple right!! Here is my take on it.

This photo came from one of my first amateur photo shoots of my moose man and I adore the way it turned out..so precious and perfect!

The background paper is from the "Poolside" Colorbok set and the embellishments are from the Jillibean Soup "Chilled Cucumber Soup" pack. I also decided to go with washi tape the gold one is from CTMH and the teal is from my stash.

So as with all of the sketches over at ScrapMuch?! you have all month long to design a layout using the sketch and then to come on over and submit it to our challenge. You can find the direct link to this sketch challenge here

Have a safe, happy, and warm weekend!

Christmas Card Challenge

Thanks for coming back over today and checking out one of my newest creation. I know that it's Thursday which typically means a digi image however I had the stomach bug the last couple of days and therefore I did not get my digi colored for this week. But never the less I do have a really fun project and a challenge to share with you today.

I am always searching for a fun Christmas challenges that will help me stay on top of the dozens and dozens of cards that we seem to have to make at the end of the year and while there are a couple great ones out there, this week I have decided to play around with a new one (at least new to me.) This challenge site is called 52 (Christmas) card throwdown and each week they challenge you to make a Christmas card using different theme, colors, and sketches and this week was a really fun and easy sketch so here is my take on it.

And here is my take:

I purchased some new trim when I was at the store the other day and I thought that it would add just the right amount of shimmer to this card. I then used a cut file from the Holiday Penguins set at Marjorie Ann Designs and finished it off with a SOTM stamp from CTMH. The paper is from my stash and again adds a really fun element to the card.

Thanks for stopping by today and make sure to head on over to 52 Christmas Card Throwdown and enter this fun challenge.

You & Me Layout + Challenges!!

Welcome to another lovely day here in Upstate where today we actually got some of the much anticipated snow and I was able to take D-man out to play in it!! We have been waiting all winter to play in the snow and while I went through a few years where I didn't care for it..having an almost 5 year old brings all of that excitement right back.

Today I have a really fun layout of the D-man and I (no snow pictures yet) but these are from a couple of week ago so they are recent. I always see challenges to get yourself photographed and scrapbooked because as hobbyist (and moms) we often do not capture ourselves in photos..so this is my attempt at that.

I had a lot of fun making this page and using all of those bright colors above the black. The papers and the bubble gems came from the Kaleidoscope Paper pack from CTMH. This is a really fun and vivid paper pack to use. The rest of the inspiration came from a few challenge sites which I will list below.

The first and main site was the Creating with Paper and More blog where Kelly has a wonderful mood board up for the month of February.

There was a lot of options to play with here and I choose to pull the hearts (and that blue out) and use that as my foundation. I also liked how those cupcakes in the middle repeated so that's where the idea of that green heart background paper came from. The actual cut is from the Artbooking Cartridge from Cricut.

While I was playing around with Kelly's challenge I also decided to go right ahead and play with the other challenges she teams up with. These include the sketch found here and the this or that challenge found here (which was to use a Polaroid frame.)

Here's the Grand Diva's Sketch:

I know really fun right! I chose to move the title to the top since I had some extra space up there and I was even able to get a little camera (on the gem) onto my layout which I thought was fun.

I also decided to enter this layout into the BBTB2 Challenge this week which is to use hearts.

I hope you enjoyed my layout and were inspired to head out and check out some of these wonderful challenges! Thanks for stopping in and I hope to see you back.

Love Is In The Air - Creative Knockouts Challenge

Welcome! We have finally made it to Thursday and what a warm and rainy week it's been here in Upstate NY! It feels like Spring has definitely came a little early this year.

Well since it's Thursday that means that there is a new Creative Knockouts Challenge up and running and this week we are celebrating "Love!"  As always we have a wonderful sponsor which happens to be All Dressed Up and who is generously giving one lucky winner 2 free images! Yay to free!!

https://www.etsy.com/shop/alldressedupstamps

For my card I am using the All Dressed Up file called Love Is which is found here. This image is completely adorable and I just could not resist getting out my watercolor pencils and getting right to work on it.

Are they not the cutest! They remind me of the precious moments dolls. Again this card was colored using watercolor pencils and the materials all came from deep down in my stash. I have actually had that background paper for ever and ever and after I colored this image I realized it would be perfect. While the paper is from my stash and has unknown origins I can tell you that the little gold hearts are from Jolee's For You and that the vellum "First Love" sentiment is from The Paper Studio's Love Phrases Sticker pack. It was a pretty easy and straight forward card to throw together.

So if you are not into Valentine's Day no worries since our Love theme allows you to simply create something using the colors red, pink, and white. We get really excited when everyone plays along so grab some cardstock and come on over. Plus, did I mention, the winner of the challenge will receive two free images from our lovely sponsor..so it's well worth it!

Then when you are done with that project make sure to come on back here tomorrow for a brand new ScrapMuch?! sketch challenge! I'll see you then!
