Use Your Stash: Nov. Blog Hop

6:00 AM 2 Comments
Welcome to a special Saturday edition where today I am taking part in a very fun Blog Hop where we are challenged to use Thanksgiving Colors and materials from our stash. If you are coming here from Sheila Bennet's blog then you are on the right track.

For today's project I decided to head right to My Sangria line since Thanksgiving is almost over and if I do not use this paper then it will sit in my stash and start collecting dust.

The tree and the sentiment all come from the CTMH Artbooking Cartridge and that lovely bear comes from a  Marjorie Ann Designs file which I picked up earlier this year. The file is called Fuzzy Loves Fall.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you were inspired to create something beautiful. To continue on through the hop make sure to jump over to Michelle Loncar's blog to see her beautiful project and if you get lost along the way you can see the entire list of hoppers on Priscilla Gotham's blog.

ScrapMuch? Sketch Challenge: Pedal to the Metal Layout

12:00 AM 1 Comments
Over the summer one of my son's favorite activities was riding around on his new bike, which btw quickly turned into jumping wooden scrap ramps (as is the natural path with any 4-year old boy!) He would get such a kick out of taking his bike just as fast as he could and jumping over our small DIY ramp and it was so much fun for us all to watch.

When this week's sketch came out for ScrapMuch I knew I needed to get these photos laid out and put into the book and this was the perfect sketch for it.

I kept the journal card blank for now and will head back and type a little story onto it before I slide the page into the album. Looking back on it I also should have replaced the buttons with some metal accessories so naturally I went back through and gave that a try.

Here is a close of those metal studs which I simply swapped out the buttons for to give it both more of a masculine feel and also to pull out that "Pedal to the Medal" title.

And as always here is a photo of that inspirational sketch. I love being part of this design team because Laura always does an awesome job with the sketches and the DT is very eclectic and inspirational.

Thanks for stopping by today. Remember you have all month to play along with any of the challenges over at ScrapMuch so come on over and play along.

Snowball Penguins Shape Card: Creative Knockouts

2:00 AM 2 Comments
If you missed yesterday's post you should head back over there and check it out because I seem to be on a penguin kick this week! Today's card came from the brand new Creative Knockouts no square cards challenge.

The digital penguin image is an image from Bugaboo Stamps and is called Snowball Penguins. Isn't it just the cutest?

For the base of the card I used a generic Cricut Shape and welded it together so both the front and the back of the card matched. I colored in the penguins with my alcohol markers and then added some silver glitter marker and paint to the snowballs and the penguins bellies just so the overall card was not so white. I finished off with some red shimmer trim across the bottom and some pearls around the penguins.

The challenge over at Creative Knockouts will last for one week and the sponsor, bugaboo stamps, is giving away a great prize package so make sure to head on over there and check it out.

Brrr...It's Cold Outside Card

12:00 AM 1 Comments
Today's card was inspired by a file from Marjorie Ann Designs called Holiday Penguins. This is a really adorable winter file and I have used it before on this card. The set comes with six different penguins making it ideal for either cards or scrapbook layouts.

With today's card I really wanted to emphasize the whole season of winter and not just the holidays and so I decided to go with a snowflake patterned paper and keep the base colors to blues and whites. The sketch for the card comes from the CTMH Originals How To Book which has over 100 different card designs that you can reproduce.

Here is a look at the complete file.

BTF Challenge: Anything Goes Baby Layout

12:00 AM 2 Comments
This week over at Between The Folds Challenges we are celebrating our final November challenge with an Anything Goes challenge. These challenges are really fun to play around with and can be interpreted in many different ways.

As you know I have been playing around a lot lately with many different scrapbook layouts so I instantly decided to reach for my Reflections book and design a really adorable opening page for the new baby (which will be here in weeks!!)

This layout uses the "Little Safari" kit from PaperStudio along with the Kaleidoscope Paper kit from CTMH...and some buttons from my stash. Here are some close up photos of that Kaleidoscope paper...you will be seeing more of this really fun and vibrant paper.

I am thinking about adding the new baby's birth stat's on a journal tag and then placing it onto the middle banner so that it can be surrounded with four beautiful baby photos.

Here's a close-up of that middle sections embellishments. See, it says "Welcome Little One!"

Thanks for stopping by today. Please do make sure to head on over to BTF Challenges and link up with your beautiful creations for the week.

Creative Knockouts: Sentiment Challenge

2:00 AM 0 Comments
Thanks for joining me for this week's Creative Knockout's Challenge. Our challenge for the week is "Something to Say" or simply, include a sentiment on our cards.

It was hard to choose just one digi from our sponsor this week, Imagine That, but I finally decided to go with one called Joyous Reindeer which includes a pack of these incredibly adorable Reindeer characters!

The "Love, Laughter, & Holiday Cheer" sentiment was the top banner part of the White Pines Paper so I simply sized it down to fit in the corner and peek out from behind that cute image. I also embellished the card with some pretty red shimmer trim and some wintery Bitty Sparkles. I then decided to add more of a subtle color to the reindeer image so I used some watercolor pencils to complete the image.

Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to head on over to Creative Knockouts and join along in our Sentiment Challenge!

Elegant, Clean, and Simple Thank You Card Set

12:00 AM 0 Comments
The other weekend we had some friends and family stop by to celebrate my 30th Birthday Party/Halloween/Fall Time!! and I wanted to make some "thank you" cards to send out to everyone. I believe that "Thank-you" can be so personal and should include lots of blank space to write a special message as to why what that person did was so special.

So when I was surfing the internet the other day (probably pinterest..it's one of my favorites) I came across this cool technique or idea to use a sponge daub and dab on a variety of ink colors to give the blending illusion when stamped.

These were so easy to make that I made a batch of them to send right out. I put a variety of sentiments onto the cards and quickly switched up the embellishments to give each card a personal touch. Of course I added a personal message on the inside of each.

This card would in fact be a one-word project which would qualify for yesterday's BTF challenge! I hope that you had a chance to head on over enter your project. I'm getting pretty good at this theme.

Mickey Mouse Invitations Plus SOTM!!

12:00 AM 0 Comments
I love little kid birthday parties...well honestly I love parties in general, but it's always more fun for me to see so many little kids behaving and running around and laughing. So of course in my house we make a really big deal out of birthdays and for a couple of years I have been designing more and more for the D-Man's parties and I really enjoy doing it so I have decided to build up an invitation stash for us to dig through when needed...you know kind of like those big birthday cake books the local bakery carries.

Damien's 3rd Birhday was Mickey Mouse club house and it was so much fun. We went as far as to build a giant room size Clubhouse in our tiny little apartment livingroom! And yes we even made all the adults enter through the miniature door! If you are interested in seeing my interactive pocket scrap page from that party or even perhaps my invites for that party you can check them out. Again it was a couple of years ago but I still love playing around with Mickey Mouse and had so much fun with it.

Well this time around I went with a younger theme on the invites and instead of using the traditional Red, Yellow, and Black I decided to use a pale blue, or perhaps even yellow or pink.

These invites are very similar to ones I did for the -man in the sense that they lay flat and measure about 5"x 6.5". I decided to add a cute little banner on these ones and had a whole slew of ideas come to me about making Daisy Invites. Minnie Invites, ect..and they all would have their own custom band...even Pluto now has a design.

I even went through and customized the event information and then drew it out using my Cricut and a fancy lettering that reminded me of Mickey Mouse.

What?? You would like more exciting and inspiration today?? Ok, well since we are into November I did want to also show you the fabulous new SOTM (Stamp Of The Month!!) This is one of my favorite monthly promotions because you get so much bang for your buck!!

This brand new set is beautiful and has 17 individual stamps that come in one package. Plus this set can be yours for only $5.00 (or for free if you are interested in hosting a qualifying gathering with me!!)

This stamp set is called Cheers 2016! and looks like so much fun (maybe even paired with our Kaleidoscope Family.)

Check out the current artwork using these stamps. The versatility mixed with the journalist lines and the positivity!! Check out the background stars in the layout below.

How much fun would it be to get a fun and sparkly "Have a Happy New Year!" card!!

Well I hope you were inspired! Thanks for stopping by today.

BTF Challenges: One Word Penguin Card

12:00 AM 2 Comments
Happy Tuesday!! Today I have exciting news for you .... I have an excellent challenge for you to try this week. Over at BTF Challenges the theme for the next two weeks is to create a project with only one word on it.

I like these one word challenges because you really have to think and come up with a meaningful word. I never truly realized how many sentiments use more than one word.

Well, with the challenge ahead of me, I set off by digging out my White Pines paper pack and let me tell you a little secret.. This paper pack was sold out the other day, it's that beautiful!! Hurry on over and grab your's now while supplies last... it's such a beautiful combination of Cranberry, Glacier, and Fern. Perfect for the season and the holidays. (Only 52 more days until Christmas!!)

I also used the Marjorie Ann Designs file Holiday Penguin which I fell in love right as soon as I came across it. This file comes with six little penguins each themed perfectly for the upcoming months. There's penguins with presents and penguins ice fishing, and so many more cute perfect for winter images.

I pulled those same colors (glacier & cranberry) right on to the inside of the card. This helps to provide more weight and an overall solid feel to the card.

Here is the inside of the card, again all paper came from the White Pines Paper pack. I simply love how this pack comes with both red/green and blue/white combos!

Oh yea and my one word.. "Joy" was drawn out and added the that cut file using my Cricut Explore an a white gel pens (one of my "must have tools.") I also added some stitching to the front using that same gel pen.

Remember, this week we challenge you to get creative and to come up with any type of project that uses one word. It could be a title for a layout, a card, of perhaps some holiday & home decor! Then come on over to BTF and share with us.
