My Spin - Seaside Workshop Layout

Last night I hosted a Seaside Scrapbook event and fell right in love with this product all over again! The Seaside kit was perfect for our family vacation to Cape Cod (a little scrapbook catch up!!)

Not only does this kit come with an exclusive D-size stamp set but it also comes with all of the paper you need and some really really adorable metal accessories. Here check it out.

I strayed a little bit from the directions and took my own way with both the picture layout (which is supposed to be two 4x6's) as well as the left hand words (which I took from the top of the B&T paper.) In fact I love how you can take one of these kits and completely transform it into what you want your page to look like, or if you are in a rush you can copy the directions for a simple and fast layout.

You can check out the complete Seaside Kit here and you can check out my upcoming workshops here, if you are long distance I can mail you out the kit and directions for an additional $5.00.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you were inspired.

Celebrate Jackson!

Today I have a card to share with you which I would normally teach everyone how to make at a gathering, but since most of my gatherings are virtual I have not had the chance to show this one yet.

On a side note, and before I show off the card, I just want to reiterate how excited and impatient I am becoming for our new Idea Book. As a consultant I got a sneak preview and man oh man are there some really great and fresh new ideas coming out. Later this week I will pop back on here to showcase our Aug. SOTM.

Ok so now onto the card.

This card was made using the Jackson paper pack, glacier extra thick twine (love this stuff and all the different colors it comes in) and our Dizzy Circles Flair stamp set. Did you know that we offer stamps sets in 7 different categories!! Amazing right!

If you are interested in learning how to make this card you simply need to contact me with a date that you would like to set up a Virtual or In home gathering....it's that easy! Then I will supply you either with all the material or I will email you out a copy of the instructions.

Also don't forget that we are in the last couple of days to take advantage of the amazing Jump on it July sale where if you purchase $25 or more in any of our stamps you will be eligible for free and extremely discounted exclusive stamp sets. This campaign is an amazing campaign for anyone who is looking to stock up on some new stamps or anyone who has came across our amazing hostess stamps sets and would like to pick them up while they still can. Here's a sneak preview of the stamps offered.

Embossed Happy Birthday Card

I came across the idea for today's card on Pinterest and I feel right in love with it and had to give it a try with my own style and flair added. The card is a 5x7 heat embossed card that has some sponged ink over the top to add a wonderful and unique look to the card.

I used the Blossom Cardmaking workshop stamp for those wonderful dandelion flowers. These workshop kits are such an amazing deal and you can use the wondeful D-size stamps again and again for many projects.

So, I simply heat embossed that specific stamp with some VersaMark Ink and some white embossing powder, then of course I heat set it. After that was done and dried I took a sponge and inked the Canary and Cranberry Inks creating that beautiful background. If you do not have a sponge I highly recommend that you look into picking up our discounted texture tools for only $7!! These tools are simply amazing and you can use them to obtain so many different techniques.

To finish up this card I decided to stamp a "Happy Birthday" sentiment in slate ink down on the bottom right. I used out Finding the Words stamp set for this sentiment and again I am in love with this stamp set, it's so very versatile and has over 20 different sentiments on it. If you are taking advantage of our Jump on it July deal then I highly recommend adding this set to your purchase.

My color inspiration came from the Color My Heart Color Dare for this week. This challenge runs from Friday to Thursday so you still have some time to head on over and play along.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you were inspired to create something beautiful. Remember I do have a Mystery Open house going on right now so if you would like to pick up some wonderful CTMH merchandise before it's gone head on over and place your order through my Aug. Open House Link.

Bad Day Fishing Card

Happy Friday! I felt like this week just went on and on and on!! Now it's finally Friday!! Yay! I hope everyone has some fabulous plans for this weekend, it's supposed to be beautiful here in Upstate. Beautiful weather means that we will have some time to get some much needed house work done and maybe even some painting!!

For today I had a request to make a funny outdoorsy masculine card for a birthday and after a little thought and a lot of looking around I decided to come up with this wonderful fishing card.

I was forced to take the picture with my computer which leads to far less in the quality arena so I apologize. The sentiment is not truly that dark and it reads "A Bad day fishing is better than a good day at work!"

The template came from the Cherish Book and is called "The Buckle" because it resembles a buckle. This was a really fun and easy template to use and I love how it changed the look of the card. I also used Jackson paper and my Shi Han markers to create a border.

The inside is covered in the brown Jackson paper and has a Glacier center which reads Happy Birthday.

Thanks for bearing with me on this wonderful Friday! I will be hosting a Mystery Open House between now and the middle of Aug. so if you care to do any shopping then come on in and join us for your chance to win.

Creative Knockouts: Pieced Air Ballon

Our challenge this week over at Creative Knockouts is to paper piece a project together, which simply means to print/cut out an image and then layer it onto paper. Sometimes you can get pretty crafty with this and lay the cut out pieces actually into the card and other times you simply stamp and image multiple times, each with a different color ink, then you cut it out and piece it back together. The joy of this technique is that it gives you the ability to transform your stamps and papers into something magnificent.

So, the first thing that came to my mind was to use a digital stamp, hand colored, and lay it into my card front. I chose to use a digital stamp because that's what we specialize in here at Creative Knockouts! and because I really am in love with my CTMH watercolor pencils.

Here is what I came up with.

I found a digital hot air balloon stamp at Bird's Cards and I used the print and cut feature on the Cricut Explore to get it all ready to be colored. From CTMH I used the Seaside paper pack and I used the watercolor pencils, plus all of my basics.

All of die cuts are sliced out of my top front card layer, then also cut out using colored cardstock. I decided to layer the polka-dot dual side paper not only on the inside but also slightly peeking out of the card front. Hot air balloons remind me of the ocean for some reason and I thought this paper was perfect to show that.

Paper piecing is very simple and really easy to achieve so go ahead give it a try and then come on over to Creative Knockout and play along with our challenge.

Party Animal Shaped Card

Happy Tuesday! Did you know that there is only one week left until the BTF design team and I launch our brand new CTMH challenge blog!! I am so excited and hope that you come and join in on all of the fun!

Today I have a wonderful shape card which is so easy to put together and would be perfect for either an invitation or perhaps even just a greeting card.

The file I used is from Marjorie Ann Designs and is called "You're such a party animal- lion." This file can be found under the cards category on her website where she has a number of shaped cards for every occasion (or you can just click the link.)

I decided to use the Confetti Wishes paper for this file since the paper and the card are so exciting and fun and to me they each scream "Party Animal!!" Did you know that you can purchase a fun paper pack from CTMH for less than $10.00!! Our paper packs include 6 12x12 Double Sided Designer papers along with 6 matching solid colored sheets. Talk about a great deal! Here have a peak at this particular one.

Check out that upper banner!! It's just a little something special and can be used in so many ways (think in place of ribbon or even as an added accent!)

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you were inspired to create something beautiful!

Holiday Holly Card & Challenge

Good Morning! I recently had the joy of being asked to Guest Design for the wonderful Die Cuttin' Divas blog and what an honor it has been. This challenge blog is dedicated to those of us who use Die Cuts on our projects and the DT over there is a group of very talented ladies!

For my project I decided to use the theme Christmas in July! I have been on a holiday kick lately and why stop now. You know, I read somewhere that there are only 25 or so more weeks until Christmas!! Yikes!! For me that means not only the holiday rush but also a new baby, talk about double whammy.

So anyway, my project was an easy layered card which I embossed with my wonderful snowflake embossing folder. Here take a peak.

For this project I used the Cricut Cartridge - Christmas Cheer. I have used this cartridge many times and love it as much as the day I bought it. I layered this die cut onto the embossed white paper, then I layered some scalloped red underneath that to add to the Christmas feel.

Make sure to head on over to the challenge and enter for your chance to win!

I hope you were inspired and enjoyed my project today. Please make sure to head on over here tomorrow for my introduction to my wonderful new design team and CTMH challenge blog, I have some fabulous ladies who are waiting to start playing!

Campout Layout

Today I have a scrapbook layout to showcase which is perfect for summer time camping! My family and I love to camp and we have a beautiful little spot on a wonderful lake in the Adirondacks that we head out to every chance we get, so when I came across the Marjorie Ann Designs file called Camping Trip I knew that I needed to make a layout with it.

I also decided to pull out my Reflections How-To Manual for a little additional help with the layout, and boy do I love how it turned out! I decided to use layouts 6e and companion sketch 6b (switched around a little) and man they are really great together. If you have never used one of these How-To manuals then you honestly do not know what you are missing out on. These books are wonderful books which feature layouts, inspiration, and tips and tricks to make your papercrafting easy and beautiful in a flash. Whether you are a pro or a beginner these books are wonderful for when we all get into that creative rut!

Here are some close ups of the accessories I used. I chose to use a jornaling card from our Jackson PML kit to incorporate some glacier into the layout. I think this Glacier color lightens up all of those darker colors that I used.

The "Great Outdoors" title is not really that dark, it was just hard to get a good photo of it without using too much light.

Here are some close up photos of that beautiful design file that I chose to use. If you have not been over to Marjorie Ann Designs then make sure to head on over, there is always a great deal going on and new files to choose from.

Along with Marjorie Ann files I decided to add some cuts from my Outdoor Man Cricut Cartridge. I told you that my family and I love the outdoors and camping so when I came across this cartridge I knew I just had to get it.

Well I hope you were enjoyed and were inspired to head out and create something beautiful. Thanks for stopping by today!

Seaside Trio

I decided today that I wanted to play around with some of the Seaside paper pack and make a trio of cards that would be great to build a stash or perhaps even as a gift.

The cards were all really easy to pull together and keep to the clean and simple feel. The first one is a Thank You card and along with the seaside paper I also used the Finding the Words Occasion Stamp Set. This set is one of my favorites and includes over 20 different sentiments ranging from Birthdays to Friendship to Love and more. The set also includes that lovely banner which I placed my sentiment on as well as some smaller stamps like petite flowers, birds, and hearts.

This next card is a Pin Wheel card which again is very easy to make. With the pinwheels you simply cut out squares to your desired size (here it was 1" x 1" and then spin them around holding them in place with a brand, button, or any other bling that you have on hand. One thing I really like about this card is that it showcases that awesome border which all of our CTMH B&T papers come with.

The final card in the set is the one featured below which makes wonderful use of the Blossoms Cardmaking Workshop Stamp Set. This is one of my favorite go to stamp sets for birthdays because along with great sentiments it also has great icons, like washi stamps, candles, and ice pops!

I hope you enjoyed and were inspired by these easy cards. Thanks for stopping by!
