Ornamental Reindeer Card

Christmas time is a huge holiday for cards and tags and it's always easier to have a simpler design for the masses. This card was pretty easy to put together and helped me focus on the colors and the ability to make 10 of these cards in one quick shot - or 20 depending on your family size ; ).

This chocolate card base is a 5X5 vertical card with a white piece cut just a 1/2" small on the two sides leaving it a 1/4" smaller on all edges - just enough for that beautiful chocolate to take a peak. I then added a Red 3 1/4 X 3" piece of card stock held on with 2 brass brads...say that 10x fast. Then finally some red and black twine tied around the front flap of the card.

I think that a key to designing a clean card is to really focus on those design elements and principles. Just think basic art class -  balance, color, texture.. The clean cards manage to bring that simple, not overly embellished design back and again can allow you to make multiple cards in one sitting.

Well that's all I have for today. I hope you join me again for a lesson on how to make a beautiful set of note cards using this c&s idea.
